Rahul Dravid has been appointed as the head coach of Rajasthan Royals (RR) before Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Rajasthan Royals is also likely to sign Vikram Rathour as one of Dravid's assistant coaches.

The cricket icon was captured receiving his Pink jersey from the Royals Sports Group CEO Jake Lush McCrum. It is believed that the RR Admin was present too, capturing the deal being signed in Bangalore.

“After the World Cup, I feel it's the ideal time for me to take on another challenge, and the Royals is the perfect place to do that”, Dravid said. 

Kumar Sangakkara was director of Rajasthan Royals and now former Indian head coach Rahul Dravid will take the charge as head cosch of the one-time IPL champions Rajasthan Royals.

Rahul Dravid was Rajasthan Royals' captain back in 2012 and 2013 IPL season and served as mentor and team director in the 2014 and 2015 seasons. In 2021, he was appointed head coach of the India men's team and ended his three-year stint with their first ICC title in 11 years as India won the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA and the West Indies. Rahul Dravid also was the head coach of Indian Men's U-19 team and won U-19 World Cup several times.

Rajasthan Royals won the IPL title in the inaugural season back in 2008 and didn't win a single time since then. Their next best finish was in 2022 when they came runners-up to Gujarat Titans.
