India all-rounder Shivam Dube will have the chance to showcase his diverse skill set in the 2024 T20 World Cup. Representing the Chennai Super Kings, Dube shook off any bowling rust by taking two wickets in a warm-up game against Bangladesh in New York. Despite only bowling a single over, the all-rounder has hinted that Team India's management might have different plans for him. Dube has been notified that his bowling could be utilized when needed.

"Rahul bhai (Rahul Dravid) and Rohit bhai (Rohit Sharma) have told me that I might get to bowl 2-3 overs at any point," said Dube to Star Sports.

Dube specifically mentioned that the senior team members supported his bowling abilities during India's T20I series against Afghanistan in January, as they were keen to explore his potential as an all-rounder.

However, because of the Impact Player rule, Dube had limited opportunities to showcase his all-round skills during IPL 2024.

"I got to bowl only one over in IPL but it turned out to be a positive as I got the wicket in that over. I was working hard in the nets because I knew which aspect I needed to work on," said Dube.

The 30-year-old showcased his explosive batting in the recently concluded IPL, scoring 369 runs at a strike rate of 162.29. His strong form at the start of the season secured his place in the India squad for the T20 World Cup.
