At the end of the third day in Cape Town, South Africa is getting closer to a victory which would seal the series. The Proteas need 111 runs to win, with 8 wickets in hand and two days left. Despite a brave century from Rishabh Pant, India only managed to give a target of 212.

Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli came down to bat on the third day with 57 runs for 2 wickets. Marco Jansen removed Pujara in the second ball of the day. Kagiso Rabada showed Ajinkya Rahane the way to the dressing room in the next over. India lost 4 wickets for 58 runs.

Kohli and Pant formed a big partnership for the fifth wicket. At that time it seemed that India was turning around. But after Kohli returned to the dressing room with 29 runs off 143 balls, India's innings faced another landslide. 

Even though there was little support from the other end, Rishabh Pant fought incredibly. Pant remained unbeaten on 100 off 139 balls. India were all out for 198 runs, giving the hosts a tricky target of 212 to chase. For South Africa, Jansen took four wickets and Lungi and Rabada three.

Batting in the second innings, South Africa are edging towards victory. At the end of the day, the Proteas collected 101 runs for 2 wickets. Aiden Markram was dismissed for 16 off 22 balls and Dean Elgar was dismissed for 30 off 96 balls. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami were among the wicket takers. Keegan Petersen is unbeaten on 48 off 61 balls. South Africa need 111 runs to win.
