Pakistani cricketers have complained that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has alienated them. According to them, the necessary support was not provided during these difficult times.
In recent times, Pakistan's cricketers have voiced their grievances against the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), alleging that the board has not provided the support they needed during difficult times.
Many senior players in the team feel let down and exposed to criticism without the expected support and defense from the PCB.
In this context, one player said that criticism is natural after defeats, but we were disappointed by the behavior of the board, who did not support us as they should have. Initially, false reports of fights between players surfaced, and when we raised our concerns about the manager, it was exaggerated by an unnecessary press release.
We just wanted the correct facts to come to light. In meetings, everyone discusses their concerns honestly; although there are differences of opinion, there are never any arguments.
The player further mentioned that the captain alone does not make the decisions of the entire team as coaches and others are also involved but the blame is often placed solely on the captain.
Furthermore, the player also defended Babar who was under pressure and said that the captain did not take the decisions alone but took all the blame and criticism on himself.
“It seems like the players are being blamed if the team doesn't reach the semi-finals. We are now portrayed as having argued with the board over contracts and not preparing for the World Cup, even though we were well prepared when we arrived in India. Unfortunately, no positive results have been achieved so far,” said the player.
Pakistan's hopes of reaching the semi-finals are hanging by a thread. With two wins and three defeats, they are currently in sixth place in the points table.
