Under the leadership of Tamim Iqbal, Barishal clinched the BPL title in the previous edition. With their current form, many believe they could secure back-to-back championships.

Having played 11 matches so far, Fortune Barishal have accumulated 18 points from 9 victories, securing their place in the Qualifier. With a roster filled with top-tier talent, the team is considered a strong contender for the title once again. One of the key players, Taijul Islam, shared his excitement about the team's aspirations, emphasizing their focus on the ultimate goal: winning the cup.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Taijul Islam stated, “Look, there are still matches to be played. It's not about our expectations, but the important thing is to play well against whoever we face. Our eyes are on one thing, the trophy. We will do whatever is best to achieve that goal. We will try to win the cup, Insha'Allah."

Taijul also commented on the enigmatic spinner Aliss Al Islam from Chittagong Kings, stating that the emergence of such bowlers is a positive sign for the league. He said, “Of course, it’s a good sign if more bowlers like him emerge. Especially in T20 formats, such bowlers are incredibly valuable for the team. It helps the team a lot. We always hope and pray that more such bowlers come in the future.”

Fortune Barishal will face Chittagong Kings in their last group-stage match on February 1st. For Barishal, the match is a formality since they have already secured their playoff spot. However, Chittagong Kings will need a win to confirm their place in the Qualifier.
