Naim-Jakir shine with the bat to win the Dhaka derby
Opener Naim Sheikh and wk-batter Jaker Ali Anik contributed a raft in this thumping win over their arch-rivals Mohammedan.

Abahani Limited beat Mohammedan Sporting Club by 8 wickets on Tuesday (2nd April). Opener Naim Sheikh and wk-batter Jaker Ali Anik contributed a raft in this thumping win over their arch-rivals Mohammedan.
Both Naim and Jaker got fifties to thump Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Dhaka derby.
Opting to field first, Abahani started to make statement from the very beginning. Removing the openers - Imrul Kayes [2] and Rony Talukder [10]. The top order couldn't stand infront of the quality bowling of Abahani. They kept bowling at good channels and maintained their lengths and were rewarded eventually. Mohammedan were stuttering on 57-5.
Experienced campaigner Mahmudullah Riyad handled the blow and stitched a 33 run stand with Nasum Ahmed. He brought up a brilliant fifty under immense pressure. At the backend of the innings, Ariful smashed a 33 run knock which helped them post a competitive 190 run.
In reply, Abahani hadn’t faced any trouble to chase down the total. Despite they lost their opener Anamul Haque Bijoy earlier of their innings, but other opener Naim Sheikh and wk-batter Jaker Ali Anik shone with their bat and strung a 106 run stand which killed the chase. Naim blasted a 62 run knock off 63 balls, while Jaker Ali was unbeaten till the end and finished with a fantastic 78*.
