Soumya Sarkar is a cricketer who brings a lot of potential in the country's cricket. However, how much he has been able to leave an impression of his potential or ability on the international stage is a big question. But whatever the performance or form, Mushfiqur Rahim does not doubt Soumya's ability.

Soumya and Mushfiqur are playing for Fortune Barishal in this year’s BPL. Barishal's 6-wicket win in the second qualifier match against Rangpur Riders confirmed the final of the BPL 2024. Mushfiqur played a great innings of 48 runs from 37 balls and made an important contribution to the team's victory. Soumya also had a chance to play a big innings, but he could not use it. He got out after scoring 22 runs off 18 balls.

But Mushfiqur knows very well what kind of cricketer Soumya is. In the press conference, Mushfiqur said about Soumya, “The discussion (is) normal, I am also in doubt that Soumya is the type of player who knows how much his caliber is. If he thinks of himself as such, he can give better input. If you tell me Andre Russell or T20 powerhouses who say play in their team and think they will do it all then no (unfortunately not).”

Mushfiqur added, “As long as you think yourself small, you will remain small. And the bigger you think or try to be then maybe you can. He (Soumya) is off to a good start in the entire BPL. He has to figure it out. If he can overcome that, good for him and good for the team.”

Comilla Victorians and Fortune Barishal will meet in the final on March 1.
