Pakistan’s white-ball captain, Mohammad Rizwan, expressed his disappointment over the team's poor fielding performance, which he believes played a major role in their 13-run defeat against Australia in the second T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Saturday, November 16.
Pakistan, chasing 148, fell short at 134 runs, and Rizwan pinpointed dropped catches as a crucial factor in their loss. Despite a solid effort from Pakistan’s bowlers, including a stellar performance from Haris Rauf, Rizwan stated that the fielding mistakes, including multiple dropped catches, cost Pakistan the match.

He specifically pointed out that the team had to take more than the usual 10 wickets to compensate for the dropped chances, which made it harder to contain a strong Australian side.
"Bowlers bowled really well, but if you drop crucial catches at crucial times, it will always cost you," Rizwan said. "Australia in Australia isn't an easy team. If you give them chances like that and you have to get 16 wickets (due to the drops), it won't be easy for any team. We all know that the pitch wasn't easy to bat on, so the catches were crucial."
Despite his frustrations with the fielding, Rizwan praised Haris Rauf for his bowling display. Rauf took 4 wickets for 22 runs, continuing his impressive run in Australian conditions.
"Haris loves Australia because of the pace and bounce," Rizwan noted. "Not sure about the changes for the third game. Will see what the situation demands." He added.
