Michael Neser has been ruled out of the second tour match against India A at the MCG. Neser sustained a hamstring injury during the first day of the second tour match and now is out of the remainder of the days of this match.
Michael Neser ran through the India A top order after opting to bowl first. His stunning swing and seam bowling helped him claim four wickets in the morning session. Neser was bowling his 13th over, he immediately began limping off the ground.
An Cricket Australia spokesperson confirmed that Neser had injured his left hamstring and will not bowl again in the game. He will go for scans to assess the extent of the damage.
However, Neser was unlikely to be in the top 13 for the firsr Test in the Perth Test. Scot Boland might be the only backup pacer as Australia will go with all the guns blazing with their pace trio - Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc. But Neser could be needed by the team in further Tests if Australia are pondering for rotation policy.
India A is bowled out for 161 runs on the back of Michael Neser and all-rounder Beau Webster's superb spells. Australia lost two wickets and have scored 53 runs on the board. The newly settled opener Nathan McSweeney failed to shine on the opening spot as he made only 14 off 30 balls before being out by Mukesh Kumar.
