The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced on Friday that Marais Erasmus and Kumar Dharmasena will be the on-field umpires for Sunday's men's T20 World Cup final between England and Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
Referees Marais Erasmus and Kumar Dharmasena will play on the field during the 2022 ICC Men's T20 World Cup Final to be played between Pakistan and England at Melbourne Cricket Ground on 13 November at 19:00 AEDT.
Chris Gaffaney will be the TV referee for the final, while Paul Reiffel will be the fourth referee. The final will be overseen by Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle.
England are looking to win the tournament for the first time since triumphing at the 2010 T20 World Cup in the West Indies after beating India by 10 wickets in Thursday's semi-final in Adelaide.
Pakistan are also looking to repeat their 2009 T20 World Cup win in England after beating New Zealand by seven wickets in Wednesday's semi-final match in Sydney.
With a 95 percent chance of rain forecast on Sunday and Monday, the main finals day and reserve day, there is a risk of the trophy being shared between the two teams.
Rain has already washed out three Group 1 Super 12 games in the MCG this tournament - England v Australia, Afghanistan v New Zealand and Afghanistan v Ireland. Ireland's surprise five-round win over England at the same venue was also affected by the rain.
The final will be overseen by Match Referee Ranjan Madugalle.
Match Officials for the final:
- Match Referee: Ranjan Madugalle
- On-field umpires: Marais Erasmus and Kumar Dharmasena
- TV umpire: Chris Gaffaney
- Fourth umpire: Paul Reiffel
