The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday announced the match officials for the upcoming two-match Test series between Pakistan and West Indies, which is part of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).
Sri Lankan Ranjan Madugalle, a member of the ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, will lead the match refereeing teams for the two matches of the 2023-25 ICC World Test Championship between hosts Pakistan and the West Indies.
In the following match, Reiffel and Kettleborough will swap roles, while Pakistan's Rashid Riaz Waqar will act as the fourth umpire.
In the second Test, which begins on Saturday, January 25, Paul Reiffel will share on-field duties with Rodney Tucker, while Richard Kettleborough will be the third umpire. Pakistan's Rashid Riaz Waqar, a member of the ICC International Panel of Umpires, will be the fourth umpire.
The much-awaited series will begin on January 17 with the first Test in Multan, followed by the second Test at the same venue starting on January 25.
This series marks a significant milestone for Pakistan cricket as it will be the first Test series to be played against West Indies since the 2006 tour of Pakistan.
While this will be Pakistan's first series in the longer format against West Indies in nearly two decades, the visitors have toured Pakistan three times since 2018 for limited-overs matches.
The rivalry between Pakistan and West Indies spans 54 Test matches, with Pakistan leading the head-to-head record with 21 wins compared to West Indies' 18. Five matches ended in draws.
The last Test series between the two nations was played in West Indies in 2021 and ended in a 1-1 draw.
