South Africa have won the toss and elected to bat first against Australia in the second semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on Thursday (November 16) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
Both the teams have made two changes to their side from the last match as spinner Tabraiz Shamsi and Marco Jansen come in for pacer Lungi Ngidi and Andile Phehlukwayo for South Africa. On the other hand, Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc are back in the squad for Australia. Marcus Stoinis and Sean Abbott are not playing in this match.
Australia have come to the semi-final with a 7 straight win after losing first two matches of the World Cup. South Africa also won 7 matches in the group stage. In the group stage match between these two teams, South Africa snatched a victory by 134 runs in Lucknow.
The winner of the match will face India in the final of the ODI World Cup on Sunday (November 19) in Ahmedabad. India beat New Zealand by 70 runs in the first semi-final yesterday.
