Bangladesh have won the toss and elected to bowl first in the first Test against Pakistan on Wednesday (August 21) in Rawalpindi.
As previously announced, Pakistan have opted for an all-out pace attack for the first Test. They have taken four pacers in the playing XI and all-rounder Salman Ali Agha will cover up the spin duties.
Bangladesh, while lost their opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy due to groin injury for the series. But the availability of star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan will give a huge boost to the team. They have opted out for three pacers- Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana. Shakib and Mehidy Hasan Miraz will do the spin duties.
Rain has disrupted the first session of the first day’s play. A total of 48 overs are scheduled for the day. Tea will be taken at 4:20 PM, with the final session starting at 4:40 PM and continuing until 6:00 PM. If needed, play can be extended by 30 minutes to ensure all overs are completed.
