New Zealand bossed the second day of Pune Test. Mitchell Santner's career-best 7 wicket-haul rattled through the Indian batting lineup and folded them for a paltry 156 runs, which gave the visitors a huge 103 runs lead. In reply, captain Tom Latham's brilliant fifty stretched the lead over 300.

It all started with Mitchell Santner ripping through Shubman Gill with a patch to remove him on 30. And then, Virat's awkward shot offer to Santner knocked him over with Glenn Phillips dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal, as India were feeling the heat on 70-4.

Santner then ran riot through the Indian middle order, ate the entire batting order and left no crumbs. However, Ravindra Jadeja stood tall for the home side and he smashed some boundaries and helped India to get over 150 before Santner trapped him LBW.

India were all-out for 156, as New Zealand got a lead of 103 runs. Mitchell Santner was the pick of the bowlers with his career-best 7 for 53 runs.

With a huge lead of 103, New Zealand came out to bat cautiously. The opening duo added 36 runs before Washington Sundar removed Devon Conway cheaply. And then skipper Tom Latham steered the ship with Will Young and added 42 runs before Ravichandran Ashwin had the latter one. Sundar then knocked over Rachin and India were sneakily coming into the game.

But Latham stood tall and he had Tom Blundell with him. The duo stitched up for a crucial 60-run stand and helped Kiwis get to safe shore.
At the backend of the day, Sundar removed Tom Latham after his magnificent 86 off 133 balls and New Zealand are comfortably flying with 198-5 with a massive lead of 301 runs.
