Darren Gough will not be present as the head coach of the Lahore Qalandars for the next 10th season of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) owing to personal commitments.

Lahore Qalandars head coach Darren Gough will not be present for the next 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) owing to unavoidable personal commitments, the franchise said in a statement on Friday.

Speaking in a video posted on Lahore Qalandars' official social media channels, English cricket legend revealed he regretted missing the season and thanked team owner Sameen Rana, who he called a "wonderful person to work with." Gough stated, "I am very sad to tell the Qalandars family that I will not be able to make it to the PSL this season due to unavoidable personal commitments."

Working with Sameen and the team has been great. The signings we were able to make in the draft were just what we were looking for. Fingers crossed, this is going to be a massive success. Until next time, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Lahore Qalandars COO Sameen Rana sounded disappointed with the development but had respect for Gough's dedication and said the Englishman will be staying in the Qalandars family.

"We are disappointed that Darren will no longer be with us this season, as we were looking forward to working with him," said Rana.

"However, we fully understand and respect his commitment. He remains a valued member of the Qalandars family, and we wish him all the best."

The 10th edition of Pakistan's premier T20 tournament begins on April 11 and ends on May 18, 2025. The 10th PSL matches will be played at four venues: Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan, and Lahore. The tournament concludes on May 18 with the final in Lahore.
