Indian cricketer Kuldeep Yadav recently visited the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to pay tribute to his idol, the late Shane Warne. The left-arm wrist-spinner, known for his own impressive spin bowling, took a moment to reflect on the profound influence Warne had on his career and personal life. Kuldeep's heartfelt homage to Warne took place against the perfect backdrop of the MCG, where a 300 kg bronze statue immortalized him in 2011.

Warne, with 708 wickets in 145 Test matches, remains Australia's top wicket-taker and the second-highest in Test cricket overall. His mastery of spin bowling inspired a generation of players, including Kuldeep Yadav, who looks up to him as both a mentor and a guiding light.
During his visit, Kuldeep shared his deep emotional connection with Warne, stating, “Shane Warne was my idol, and I had a very strong connection with him. I still get emotional when I think about Warnie—it feels like I’ve lost someone from my family."
In addition to paying his respects at the MCG, Kuldeep also toured the Cricket Australia (CA) headquarters. He was greeted warmly by Cricket Australia’s CEO Nick Hockley, who joined via an online interaction
Kuldeep was briefed on the upcoming Australian summer, which promises thrilling cricket action as both India and Pakistan are slated to tour Australia. Reflecting on his experience at the CA headquarters, Kuldeep expressed his anticipation for the future contests, saying, “It’s great to be here at Cricket Australia’s headquarters and the iconic MCG. I’m looking forward to the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and we’re anticipating a great cricket contest between Australia and India this year."
The Indian spinner also highlighted the unwavering support of Indian fans, a crucial element in the team's success on foreign soil. He remarked, “India cricket fans always support the team around the globe, and I’m confident they will come in big numbers for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, especially during the Boxing Day Test."
