In a bold move, Dhaka Capitals have chosen a local cricketing icon, Khaled Mahmud Sujon, as their head coach for the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) season. Known for his immense impact on Bangladesh cricket and his role in developing top-tier players, Sujon brings unparalleled experience to the franchise, which is owned by actor Shakib Khan.

Sujon, who has previously coached several BPL teams and played a significant role in developing local talent, expressed excitement about this opportunity. He shared, "This is a huge responsibility. I believe in giving my best effort to help the team progress. Implementing plans effectively is crucial."

Although he was absent during the players' draft, Dhaka Capitals assembled a strong squad with a blend of youth and experience. Speaking about the team, Sujon commented, “I’m thrilled with the team we’ve formed. We have a mix of young and experienced players, including some excellent T20 specialists. I believe we can achieve great things this season.”

Ahead of the players' draft, the team secured notable names, including Stephen Eskinazi, Thisara Perera, Johnson Charles, Amir Hamza, and Shahnawaz Dahani. Dhaka Capitals also bolstered their lineup with key local talents like Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzid Hasan Tamim. During the draft, they further strengthened the squad by selecting Lttton Das, explosive batter Habibur Rahman Sohan, and bowlers Mukidul Islam and Abu Jayed.

In a standout acquisition, the team bought Pakistan’s rising star Saim Ayub for the entire season. The roster was further rounded out with local players such as Sabbir Rahman, Munim Shahriar, Asif Hasan, and Shahadat Hossain Dipu.
