Royal Challengers Bangaluru beat Rajasthan Royals by 11 runs on Thursday (April 24). Virat Kohli's superb 70 off 42 deliveries and an excellent 50 off 27 balls helped the RCB get to 205 on the board. In reply, Josh Hazlewood's sensational four wicket-haul handed RCB a crucial 11-run victory.
Being asked to bat first, Phil Salt and Virat Kohli added 61 runs on the opening stand before the departure of Salt after his 26 off 23 deliveries. And then Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal steadied the ship for RCB, adding 95 runs on the second wicket, whereas both of them notching up fifties each.
Virat Kohli made a fantastic knock of 70 off 42 deliveries, whereas Devdutt Padikkal blasted a fine 50 off 27 balls as RCB posted a massive 205 runs on the board.
In response, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi started off to a flier, adding 51 runs on the opening stand before Bhuvneshwar Kumar knocking over the later one. Nitish Rana then came in and joined with Jaiswal. But the stand didn’t last long as Jaiswal fell to Josh Hazlewood after his blitzkrieg 49 off 19 balls.
Wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel stood tall amid a little collapse, as he made a superb 47 off 34 balls but the relentless superb bowling from Josh Hazlewood, who returned figures with 33-4 as RCB claimed a fine 11-run victory.
