Australia's ace pacer Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the Sri Lanka Test tour. Josh Hazlewood has suffered a side strain during the match at Optus in Perth during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Josh Hazlewood missed out the second Test at the Adelaide Oval and Australian management rushed him to the team at the Gabba in the third Test but he was out of the match after the first innings.

The selectors are giving Hazlewood's long-term fitness first priority because of the next Ashes series and the World Test Championship (WTC) final against South Africa in June.

However, Scott Boland had taken his place and shone to the peak as he helped the Aussies claim the BGT for the first time in a decade.

Not only Josh Hazlewood, Aussie captain Pat Cummins is also set to miss Sri Lanka tour as he's expecting second child and he'll be on paternity leave.

In the absence of Pat Cummins, Steve Smith is all set to take the reins for Australian team.

The two-match Test series is set to be commenced from January 29 in Galle and the second Test will be played from February 06 on the same venue in Galle.
