Trott was frustrated when Afghanistan's innings was interrupted early on by rain as the visitors did not get off to a good start. Even after the rain stops, it takes a lot of time to prepare the field. Trott got angry with the umpires.
Trott's action has been accused of violating Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “showing dissent at an Umpire’s decision during an International Match.” He has been fined 15 percent of the match fee. Meanwhile, Afghanistan all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai has been fined the same amount for an aggressive celebration after dismissing Towhid Hridoy. He has been accused of inappropriately reacting to an opponent, which contravened Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
Trott and Omarzai are not only exempt from fines, both of them have been given one demerit point by ICC. If a player gets four demerits points within 24 months, he will be banned from one Test or two ODIs or T20 matches.
Incidentally, despite defeating Bangladesh in the ODI series, Afghanistan were whitewashed by Bangladesh 2-0 in the T20I series.
