Rajasthan Royals crushed Punjab Kings by 50 runs on Saturday (April 5). Yashasvi Jaiswal's 67 and a crucial 43* from Riyan Parag helped RR get to a formidable total of 205 on the board. In response, Jofra Archer rattled through the PBKS batting lineup and handed a comprehensive 50 runs victory.
Being sent to bat first, Rajasthan Royals had a brilliant start, as the opening duo steadied the ship, adding 89 runs inside 10 overs before departure of Sanju Samson after his 38 off just 26 deliveries.
Jaiswal and Riyan Parag then further added 34 runs before Lockie Ferguson knocked over the former after his superb 67 off 45 deliveries. But Riyan Parag held one end firm, scoring an incredible knock of 43* off only 25 balls as RR ended their innings on 205 runs.
In response, Jofra Archer set the tone for RR with his fiery spell and there was no looking back from there. He got Priyansh Arya first ball and his extreme pace troubled everyone. Shreyas Iyer too was unsettled with this raw pace and Archer uprooted his stumps.
Nehal Wadhera and Glenn Maxwell after four quick wickets got their side back with a healthy partnership. But the duo departed in successive deliveries and from then it was just a mere completion job for Rajasthan Royals, which they did and won the game by 50 runs.
