Ireland have confirmed their first away series win in any format against a Test-playing nation as they beat West Indies by two wickets in the series-deciding third ODI at Sabina Park, Kingston.
This was also Ireland's first series win in the Cricket World Cup Super League after they drew 1-1 against South Africa and Zimbabwe each at home last year.
After winning the toss third time in a row on the tour, Ireland were faced by Shai Hope's early aggression. Hope single-handedly dominated the Irish as he romped to 39-ball 53 runs with 9 fours and a six in a 72-run stand with Justin Greaves.
However, West Indies fell apart quickly with Craig Young and Andy McBrine striking. The hosts lost seven wickets - including skipper Kieron Pollard - for only 47 runs.
Jason Holder struck a 63-run partnership with Akeal Hosein to frustrate Ireland but the former was run out for 44. Odean Smith hit a quickfire 10-ball 20* to take West Indies to 212 all-out.
The run chase began with a first-ball wicket from Alzarri Joseph who saw the back of William Porterfield. Paul Stirling however counter-attacked with 44 off 38 with McBrine scoring his second ODI fifty (100-ball 59) to follow four wickets in the match.
In-form Harry Tector struck his third fifty on the trot (52 runs). Ireland's other batters faltered which gave West Indies a slim hope of taking the series as the visitors went 8 down for 208.
Young finished off with a boundary to end the game having 31 balls to spare.
McBrine's superb all-round performance of 128 runs alongside 10 wickets won him the player of the series.
