In the run-up to the World Cup, the All-European Tri Series will take place. In the Netherlands, Scotland-Ireland will face the hosts in a tri-series. This T20 tri-series will contribute to the three nations' preparations for the T20 World Cup. 

June 1 will witness the T20 World Cup matchup between the United States and the West Indies. The tri-nation series will previously take place from May 18 to May 24. Daily matches are one, with the exception of May 21. The competition will be a round-robin league contest involving three teams. Each team will face the other in two matches. But there is no final.

After completing the full series with Afghanistan, Ireland will play a three-match T20 series at home against Pakistan in May. The Irish will fly to the Netherlands after the Pakistan series. After the tri-nation series, they will go there to participate in the T20 World Cup. On the other hand, this series is going to be the last chance for the Scottish and Dutch to polish themselves before the World Cup.

Roland Lefebvre, director of high performance at the Royal Dutch Cricket Association, said in a statement: "We are excited to host this Tri-Series as part of our preparation for the T20 World Cup played in America and the West Indies in June. Twenty teams will be competing in this year's event which makes this World Cup a truly global event, with more than a billion TV viewers worldwide. The Netherlands team will be aiming to emulate the success they had in Australia in 2022."

India, Pakistan, USA, and Canada are in Group 'A' of the T20 World Cup. Group 'B' includes Scotland, England, Australia, Namibia and Oman. Besides, the Netherlands will play in the 'D' group. The Dutch are getting South Africa, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal as contenders.
