Bangladesh had a great first day in the Dhaka Test. The batters ruled the Afghanistan bowlers with extraordinary batting. Najmul Hossain Shanto led the team's batting from the front by scoring a century.

Shanto played a great innings of 146 runs off 175 balls while batting in a somewhat aggressive mood. At the end of the day's play, Bangladesh managed to score 362 runs by losing 5 wickets. Mushfiqur Rahim and Mehidy Hasan Miraz were unbeaten at the end of the day. The Tigers will definitely want to increase this run on the second day.

Shanto had the best day with the bat. The batter, who has been in great form recently, has gone through many ups and downs. At one time, this left-handed batter had to face a lot of criticism. There was no run with the bat. But Shanto has started scoring runs finally. The criticism of the supporters has finally reduced.

In the press conference after the match, Shanto said that he had already believed that he would score runs. He was doing his work properly even in practice. Shanto said, "There is not much difference (before and now). I always tried to think about my practice, how hard I was working, what things I needed to do. I had that belief that I was getting it right, putting that effort into practice. The result was not coming. Of course, when I don't score runs, I actually feel bad.”

He added, “I didn't think too much about the results to be honest. I didn't even think about the surroundings. Yes, there have been times when I feel bad. But I didn't think too much about it. My main focus was on my preparation and where I was lacking. The result was not coming before but now it is coming. Earlier I used to play to score runs. I believed I would score runs.”

In response to the question whether batting was easy on the day, he further said, "I didn't find it (batting) easy. I think I tried to execute the plan that I tried to bat in. The plan was exactly what I wanted to do. That's why it seemed a little easier. I batted with much efforts.”

Shanto also spoke about the feeling of batting in such hot weather, saying, “It's very hot. We haven't played much before in this type of hot weather. We never even thought about the fact as it is out of our control. The pattern was similar to the way we practiced for the last few days. How will we play the match in summer- It's not under our control, we're not worried. We finished the day well.”

Shanto also dreams of scoring bigger runs. “We could have made another pair in the middle overs. The way Mushfiqur Bhai and Miraz are batting now, I think if it's big, it won't feel like we're in a bad position.”
