Pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib made his debut in international cricket in the Asia Cup this month, meanwhile he also got a place in the World Cup squad.

Ebadot Hossain's injury opened the door for 20-year-old Tanzim Sakib. The young pacer of the national team is not afraid before landing on a big stage like the World Cup, nor is there any stress. He wants to bring success to the country by doing his best. 

The youngster, who got a place in the World Cup squad quite unexpectedly, was a member of the U19 World Cup winning team in 2020. He also made a big contribution to winning the Youth World Cup. But this time it's the main World Cup, so the feeling is different, “It's a great feeling. When I informed my parents they were also very happy. Besides, I was very happy myself. Going for the first time, I will try to learn as much as possible from here. The world's biggest cricketers from every country will go to the World Cup. I will try my best and learn.”

Before playing in the World Cup for the first time, Sakib is not nervous at all because he considers himself mentally strong. He added, “Winning the U19 World Cup was like a dream. Now I’m going with the elders. I will try to play well InshaAllah. That (U19 World Cup win) gives me a lot of motivation, winning a World Cup. I don't have any kind of fear. I am very strong mentally.”
