Abu Hider Rony has been on fire with the ball in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). At the expense of just 20 runs, Mohammedan Sporting Club's pacer has claimed 7 wickets. Abu Hider's outstanding bowling allowed Mohammedan to dismiss the opposition, Gazi Tyres Cricket Academy, for a mere 40 runs.   

After winning the toss and batting first, Gazi Tires were dismantled by Abu Hider Rony’s bowling. From the beginning, Rony started picking up wickets. On the other hand, Gazi Tires lost one wicket after another. Gazi Tires were all out after scoring 40 runs in just 12 overs. Rony picked up 7 wickets for 20 runs. On the other hand, Nasum Ahmed took 3 wickets at the cost of 20 runs.

Mohammedan won by chasing this short run in 6.2 overs with 9 wickets in hand. Abu Hider Rony expressed his feelings at the end of the match. Rony told the media, “Alhamdulillah, today's match is very good Alhamdulillah, best (bowling) figures in my list 'A' career. It always feels good to do good. As the best bowling figures in this format. Today is definitely special for me.”

Rony is the highest wicket-taker so far in the tournament with 20 wickets. In response to the question whether there is a big target ahead, Rony added, “Actually, what happens if you take a big target, there is a chance to slip a little in the middle. I always plan match by match to move forward. I think about one match at a time. The first match after Eid is against Shinepukur. So now thinking about this. If I can overcome this then maybe I will think about the next match.”

Rony further said, “Of course, if you do well, then the thoughts of the next game come. The process is the same, maybe there was a bad time in the middle. Now Alhamdulillah I have overcome. I have been trying hard for the last 2 years to figure out how to overcome. I tried to increase the pace of the ball by working hard. I tried to fix the line length. Alhamdulillah, maybe I am getting the result of these 2 years of effort. Everything is a process. I'm in the process. If I can hold it, I hope there will be something better in the future.”
