The win showcased stellar performances from both batters and bowlers, with key contributions from Taijul Islam, Jaker Ali Anik, Shadman Islam, and captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

This victory, crucial to leveling the series, was a result of an all-round effort. Despite being bowled out for just 146 in the first innings, Bangladesh bounced back strongly, led by Nahid Rana’s fiery bowling. Their aggressive batting in the second innings set up a challenging target, and Taijul’s spin masterclass sealed the win in style.

Taijul Islam was at the heart of Bangladesh’s victory, claiming a remarkable five-wicket haul in the second innings and providing crucial support with the bat in both innings. His heroics earned him the Player-of-the-Match award—his first such recognition outside Bangladesh.

Reflecting on his performance, Taijul said: “I am definitely satisfied with my bowling. Whenever the team needed me, I delivered, especially in the fourth innings when expectations were high. The team achieved this victory despite the absence of regular captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and experienced batter Mushfiqur Rahim. Taijul credited the collective effort of both young and seasoned players for the success.

“This team had a mix of young players and a few with 8-10 years of experience. But everyone was determined to win, and the effort from every individual was incredible and unmatched.”
