India head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed high praise for Abhishek Sharma’s stunning century, labeling it the best T20 hundred he has ever seen, following India’s dominant victory over England in the fifth and final T20I at Wankhede Stadium. Abhishek’s spectacular 54-ball 135 laid the foundation for India’s 150-run win, sealing the T20I series 4-1.

The left-handed opener's explosive knock, which included 13 sixes and 7 fours, came against a formidable England bowling attack featuring Jofra Archer and Mark Wood, both consistently bowling at speeds of 150 kmph. Gambhir was in awe of Abhishek’s ability to take on such quality bowlers from the start.

"I haven't seen a T20 hundred like this. And against an attack like this, where you've got Jofra Archer and Mark Wood bowling at 150 consistently. Yeah, you might see a lot of T20 hundreds in IPL, but the quality of the attack in front of him and for a young boy to take them on from ball one was probably the best," Gambhir said in his post-match statement.

Abhishek's record-breaking innings not only helped India amass 247-9 but also saw him become the sixth Indian batter to score multiple centuries in T20Is. His knock broke records for the most runs and sixes by an Indian in a T20I match. Apart from his batting heroics, Abhishek also contributed with the ball, picking up two wickets in an over, as India bowled out England for just 97 runs.
