Shahadat Hossain Dipu batted in the top-order in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). But he mainly bats in the middle-order with the red ball. Dipu will bat at which position in the batting order if he gets a chance in the national team's main XI, many people are thinking about it. But for now, Dipu has no headache about the batting position.

He has no objection to batting in the middle-order if he gets a chance in the national team's XI. This middle-order batter said that he batted in the top-order at the request of the team in the DPL.

“I bat at No. 4-5 in the longer version. I have no problem with that. I played in one down or opening with white-ball, no problem. But here too I used to play at No. 4-5,” Dipu said.

Among all formats, red ball cricket is preferred by Dipu. This is the first time he has been called up in this format. There are many favorite players, but he doesn’t follow anyone particularly, “I like to play in every format. I enjoy the red-ball cricket more, it's fun. I don’t follow anyone specifically. I liked the batting of Kohli, Mushfiq bhai. Actually, I like many cricketers’ batting.”

On May 4, shortly before Maghrib Azan, he came to know that he’s in the only Test team against Afghanistan. He immediately told the news to his mother and elder brother, without whose support he could not have come this far. After joining the practice in the morning, he received a congratulatory message from coach Chandika Hathurusingha.

Dipu added, “Yesterday I got to know before Maghrib. I try to play well wherever I get a chance. Chances will come if you play your best. All congratulated me. I met the coach. He congratulated me too.”
