Winning the toss, Dhaka Metro captain Akbar opted to bowl first, setting the stage for what turned out to be a dramatic low-scoring encounter. Dhaka Metro's batting lineup crumbled under pressure, managing just 62 runs in 16.3 overs.
The collapse began early as Imran Uzzaman returned to the pavilion with just 4 runs on the board. Star batter and captain Naim Sheikh, who had been in excellent form throughout the tournament, also failed to deliver, departing for a duck at 6 runs.
Dhaka Metro’s struggles intensified as they lost wickets in quick succession, slumping to 16/5. Shamsur Rahman Shuvo and Mosaddek Hossain attempted to salvage the innings with cautious batting, but neither could hold their ground. Shamsur scored 14 off 28 balls, while Mosaddek managed just 6 runs from 15 deliveries.
The lower order tried to add a few runs, with Abu Hider Rony contributing 13 to avoid the embarrassment of an even lower score. Despite their efforts, Dhaka Metro was bowled out for 62 runs. Rangpur’s Alauddin Babu and Mukidul Islam were the stars with the ball, each claiming three wickets for just 12 runs.
Chasing a meager target, Rangpur encountered unexpected resistance. Dhaka Metro’s bowlers, led by Aliss Al Islam, managed to pick up early wickets, reducing Rangpur to a precarious position.
However, experienced batter Anamul Haque Enam ensured there were no further surprises, scoring an unbeaten 14 off 9 balls to guide his team to victory. Ariful Haque also contributed 14 runs from 11 deliveries. Rangpur achieved the target in 11.2 overs, with 5 wickets in hand, claiming the championship in style.
