,the West Indian all-rounder who has played over 300 T20 matches in leagues all around the world, is claiming that the Caribbean Premier League(CPL) is at par with the Indian Premier League(IPL) and the Australian Big Bash League.
The 33-year old said,
It(CPL) is up there with the IPL and the Big Bash. Most of these guys play in these other tournaments (as well as the CPL), like the Amlas and the McCullums, Sangakkara. The entire tournament is tough. It's short, six teams only, and anybody on their given day can win."
The CPL had began it's journey in 2013. Since it's inception it has quickly climbed up the ladder of popularity in the cricket world. The viewership, both in t.v and stadiums have increased. Financially this has become one of the most successful leagues in the world. The standard of cricket is also getting better, with international icons like Kumar Sangakkara, Hashim Amla, Brendon McCullum,Martin Guptill and many more becoming a part of this tournament.
Bravo is the captain of the Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL. He is quite happy with the balance of his side this year and is hopeful of his sides chances.
"This year it's one of our better balanced teams,"
Bravo said.
"We have very good spinners, a very good quick in Ronsford Beaton, good all-rounders and strong batting, with the likes of Amla and McCullum, Colin Munro. So we have a good team but the CPL is a tournament where all the six teams are very good. It's not a one-sided tournament but I always fancy our chances."
There are two Bangladeshi cricketers taking part in this years CPL. Young sensation of
, Mehedi Hasan Miraz will be playing in his 1st foreign T20 league. He will play under Bravo in Trinbago Knight Riders. Bangladesh's ace all-rounder
will play for the Jamaica Tallawahs for the 2nd year in a row.
