There were some fixing issues in the previous editions of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). Since then, all the players and the board have been warned, in no way should the black paw of this corruption fall in the franchise league of Bangladesh. This time Sylhet Strikers have shown prudence and foresight. The BPL new franchise has been offered to fix which they informed to the anti-corruption and security unit (ACSU).

This is the first time Sylhet Strikers are participating in the BPL, which are representing the Sylhet region as a new franchise. A director of the Sylhet Strikers team was offered this fixing.

According to ICC and ACSU rules, fixing proposals should be reported as soon as possible. Sylhet have done that. The matter has now gone under ACSU’s investigation. However, in this incident, ACSU’s surveillance on BPL may increase.

Sarwar Chowdhury, the owner of Sylhet Strikers, confirmed the matter and told to BDCricTime, “It is normal, it can happen. It has to be properly informed. We did it. It is our responsibility, nothing to be complacent about. It is our responsibility.”

Sylhet have played 4 matches so far and not lost a single match. They are the only unbeaten team in this year’s tournament.
