England's white-ball tour of Bangladesh has been postponed, as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The tour was expected to have three T20Is alongside three ODIs (as part of Cricket World Cup Super League) in September-October.
Reports emerged suggesting England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will postpone the tour and the England players will be available for the second-leg of IPL.
BCB had initially been unaware of the development but CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury later confirmed to the media that the series will be rescheduled.
"As the ODI series is a part of the Super League, the tour will be rescheduled at a convenient time before the World Cup," Nizamuddin said.
England had last made a visit to Bangladesh in 2016. They won the ODI series 2-1 before levelling the Test series 1-1, a series in which Mehidy Hasan Miraz introduced himself on the international stage.
The postponement of the tour means Shakib Al Hasan (Kolkata Knight Riders) and Mustafizur Rahman (Rajasthan Royals) can return to their respective IPL teams in the UAE if Bangladesh's T20I series with New Zealand finishes before September 19.
Bangladesh are currently hosting Australia for a five-match T20I series. The Australia and New Zealand series will pose as ideal preparations for the T20 World Cup, where the Tigers will have to pass through Round 1.
