The tenth season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has started. Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman was supposed to play for Fortune Barishal in this tournament. But he is not able to come to play due to not getting NOC.
Mizanur Rahman, the owner of Fortune Barishal, confirmed to BDCricTime that Fakhar did not receive the NOC. Barishal brought Fakhar to the team in a direct contract before the players' draft in this season. Apart from Fakhar, Tamim Iqbal, the country's best opener, was in the team. As a result, many were waiting to see the opening pair of Tamim-Fakhar. But even though Tamim returned to the field with BPL after a long time, Fakhar is not able to come to play BPL.
Cricketers have to come to get NOC or No Objection Certificate from their country's cricket board to play in foreign leagues. No foreign league team can play a cricketer unless the board gives NOC to him. PCB did not give NOC to Fakhar, so Barisal will not be able to play him.
Fakhar Zaman has been a familiar face in Pakistan's national team for a long time. His responsibility is to give the team a good start by batting in the opening or top order. Fortune Barishal wanted to bring this cricketer who spread light for Pakistan to BPL. But for now, he is not able to come to play BPL.
However, Fakhar's team Fortune Barisal has made a good start in this season of BPL. They beat Rangpur Riders by 5 wickets in their first match.
