South Africa Women's beat Bangladesh Women's by 7 wickets on Saturday (October 12). Tazmin Brits gutsy 42 off 41 balls and Anneke Bosch's 25 off 25 helped the proteas chase down a modest target of 107.
After this convincing victory, South Africa have alsmot solidified their spot for the semi-final. Opting to bat first, Marizanne Kapp removed Dilara Akter for a two-ball duck. Shathi Rani played one of the awful T20I knocks ever as she took 30 balls to score just 19 runs, including a boundary.
Sobahana Mostary too consumed many dot balls and managed to score 38 off 43 balls, whereas the captain Nigar Sultana made an unbeaten 32* off 38 balls and Bangladesh Women's managed to post only 106 on the board, despite losing only three wickets.
In reply of 107, Protea skipper Laura Wolvaardt got out cheaply on 7 off 12 balls. Tazmin Brits and Anneke Bosch stitched a crucial partnership of 53 runs from 54 balls, which was very vital in the course of the match.
Bosch, however got out to Fahima Khatun on 25 off 25 balls. And then Tazmin Brits too was departed to Ritu Moni after her match winning 42 off 41 balls and Protea Women's had a very comfortable victory by 7 wickets, with 16 balls to spare.
After this thumping victory, South Africa Women's are flying on top of the sky, as they're the table topper of the Group 'B'. Bangladesh Women's and Scotland Women's, however, are eliminated from the semi-final race.
