The team is scheduled to depart for Sri Lanka on September 5, with matches set to take place across various venues in Colombo. Although it's an 'A' team tour, the Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) Women’s Cricket Operations Head, Habibul Bashar Sumon, has confirmed that many of the national team players will be included in this squad to fine-tune their preparations for the T20 World Cup.
The tour kicks off with the first ODI on September 8 at the Panagoda Army Ground, followed by the second ODI on September 10 at Colombo's Thurstan ground.
The T20I series begins on September 12, with the first two matches taking place back-to-back at P. Sara Oval in Colombo. The third T20I is scheduled for September 15 at the Thurstan ground.
After completing the series, the Bangladesh women's team will head to the UAE for the T20 World Cup, which runs from October 3 to October 20. The tournament will feature 23 matches held across Dubai and Sharjah. Bangladesh is set to face Scotland in the opening match on October 3. The team, led by Nigar Sultana, will also compete against South Africa, England, and West Indies in Group B.
This tour is seen as a vital part of the team's preparation for the World Cup, with ongoing domestic competitions like the Women’s NCL in Rajshahi also helping the players stay in form.
