The Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team is set to experience an intensified international schedule in the 2025-29 ICC Women’s Championship cycle, with matches lined up against global cricket powerhouses. This new phase of the Women’s Championship adds Zimbabwe as a competing team, bringing a fresh dynamic to the tournament and increasing participation. Each of the ten participating teams will play four home-and-away series as they vie for a spot in the 2029 Women’s ODI World Cup, mirroring the setup from the previous cycle.
Bangladesh are scheduled to host Zimbabwe, along with Sri Lanka, the West Indies, and South Africa, for a series of three ODIs and three T20Is each. Meanwhile, away series will see Bangladesh competing against India, Australia, England, and Pakistan. Outside of the Women’s Championship, Bangladesh has planned a single ODI and two T20Is against New Zealand, adding more bilateral matches to their already packed calendar.
If all goes as planned, Bangladesh will compete in 27 ODIs and 30 T20Is across various bilateral series, marking an impressive schedule and development opportunity for the team.
In an exciting development, the ICC also announced the first-ever Women’s Champions Trophy. The T20-format tournament will debut in 2027, featuring six teams in a new showcase of top-tier women’s cricket. Fans can also look forward to the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup in India, the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Kingdom, and the inclusion of women’s cricket in the 2028 Olympics, which aligns with the 2028 Women’s T20 World Cup.
