Despite a tough loss in the first Test, Bangladesh is optimistic about ending the series on a high note by winning the final Test against South Africa in Chattogram. Following the team’s first day of practice at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, spinner Nayeem Hasan emphasized that the team is focused on leveling the series with a strong performance.
In the previous Dhaka Test, Bangladesh fell to South Africa by 7 wickets, struggling against both bat and ball. Yet, the team is set on forgetting past setbacks and focusing solely on victory in Chattogram. Speaking confidently, Nayeem stated, “InshaAllah, I believe we’ll have a good result here. We are determined to bring the series to a tie, Inshallah.”
For Bangladesh to achieve victory, strong play across batting, bowling, and fielding will be essential. Nayeem elaborated, “To win, we need to play good cricket across the board. Each department—batting, bowling, and fielding—has to perform at 100%. If we can stay focused on the process and execute well, InshaAllah, the result at the end will be favorable.”
Nayeem also stressed the importance of maintaining a step-by-step approach, with a mindset focused on the process rather than the outcome. He added, “Everyone is hopeful, Alhamdulillah, that we are here to win, Inshallah. Our goal is to keep playing according to our process, focusing on each day, and let the results follow after five days.”
