An exhilarating day of Test Cricket came to an end. India managed to get a slender 28 runs lead on the back of Shubman Gill's brilliant 90 and Rishabh Pant's quick-fire 60 off only 59 balls. In reply, New Zealand crumbled infront of the venomous spin duo Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

India are on the verge of having a consolation victory in Mumbai.
The tone was set by Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill. The duo stitched up a fantastic 96-run stand between them. Gill played the second fiddle role, while Pant was the accelerator, smashing everything whoever came towards him. Pant was departed to Ish Sodhi and Gill to failed to convert his fifty to hundred for only 10 runs. After the departure of these two India collapsed horribly.

Washington Sundar, however, played a fine knock of 38 off 36 balls to help the hosts get a pivotal 28-run lead.

In reply, Akash Deep removed New Zealand captain Tom Latham for 1. Devon Conway got start but got out to Washington Sundar after his steady 22 runs. And then Ashwin and Jadeja showed their magic to ran riot through the Kiwi middle order. Will Young was thr only one to get a fifty as he scored 51 off 100 deliveries before being caught and bowled to Ravichandran Ashwin.

The Kiwis are on 171-9 and leading India by 43 runs only. They will ask for more 40-50 runs to add under their belt but this is unlikely to happen.
