It was another great performance by Anamul Haque Bijoy on the domestic circuit. He hit an amazing unbeaten century that not only helped Gazi Group Cricketers win, but it was also a huge achievement for him personally: it was his 50th century in recognized cricket.

In a very important match in the current Dhaka Premier League (DPL) 2024-25, against Legends of Rupganj, Anamul stayed unbeaten on 110 runs off 108 balls, with 10 fours and a six.  Gazi Group easily won by 7 wickets with 54 balls to spare thanks to his efforts.

Now that he has this innings, Anamul is one of the few Bangladeshi batters who have scored 100 runs in all accepted forms. He has 50 centuries in total now-   24 in first-class, 23 in List A and 3 in T20s.

He is now at the top of the list, ahead of pros like Naeem Islam (46 centuries).  Because he is consistent across all forms, he is still one of the biggest names in Bangladesh's domestic cricket scene.

Legends of Rupganj won the toss earlier in the day and decided to bat first at BKSP-4.  Openers Tanzid Hasan Tamim (68 off 53 balls) and Saif Hassan (52 off 55 balls) gave them a good start with a hundred stand.  But after Soumya Sarkar was out playing a casual shot, the middle order fell apart. Only Akbar Ali and Afif Hossain were able to hold out for a short time.

Their game fell apart, and they were out for 223 runs in just 39.2 overs. Sheikh Parvez Jibon took five wickets, which was a great performance.

Gazi Group's opening pair of Anamul Haque Bijoy and Sadikur Rahman built a strong base by scoring 81 runs together.  Before Soumya scored, Sadikur made 36 runs off of 52 balls.  Even though Shamsur Rahman and Sabbir Hossan failed to make the most of their chances, the middle order shook a little, but Bijoy stayed strong.

Salman Hossain proved to be a trusted partner, and the two of them led the team safely home.  The hundred that Bijoy hit not only won the game, but it also made history.
