Bangladesh thrashed Afghanistan by 68 runs to level the series on Saturday (November 9) in Sharjah. Najmul Hossain Shanto's gutsy innings of 76 off 119 balls and late cameo of 37* off 27 balls from Jaker Ali helped Bangladesh get to 252 on the board. In reply, Nasum Ahmed's three wicket-haul and dual wickets from Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman helped Bangladesh get a superb 68-run victory.

Opting to bat first, Tanzid Hasan Tamim started off to a brisk start and scored a quick-fire 22 off 17 balls before falling to Allah Ghazanfar. Soumya Sarkar and skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto's 71-run stand helped Bangladesh get going before Rashid Khan trapped Soumya for LBW. Shanto, however, stood tall and scored a gritty knock of 76 off 119 balls but couldn’t accelerate the innings.

Bangladesh, however, had a horrible collapse at the middle order before Jaker Ali blasted a quick-fire cameo of 37* off 27 balls and Nasum Ahmed smashed 25 off 24 balls to help Bangladesh get a competitive total of 252 runs.

In reply, Taskin Ahmed removed Rahmanullah Gurbaz cheaply. Sediqullah Atal and Rahmat Shah stitched a crucial 52-run stand before Nasum Ahmed removed Sediqullah. Rahmat scored a sedate 52 off 76 balls.

After the departure of Rahmat Shah, Afghanistan collapsed horribly infront of Bangladesh spinners. Miraz and Nasum ran riot through the Afghanistan middle order as Afghanistan were bowled out for 184 runs and ultimately lost the game by 68 runs.
