Pakistan National Cricket Team winless run in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 has triggered intense criticism, with former pacer Mohammad Amir launching a sharp attack on white-ball skipper Mohammad Rizwan. Amir known for his outspoken nature questioned Rizwan’s leadership humorously comparing his captaincy decline to a Ferrari slowing down to a wrecked rickshaw.

Mohammad Amir’s Ferrari vs. Rickshaw Jibe at Rizwan
Speaking to Sports Tak Amir expressed disappointment over Rizwan’s lack of decisive leadership. When asked whether Rizwan was a better captain than Babar Azam Amir responded with a sarcastic analogy:
"Mohammad Rizwan… You’ve gone from a Ferrari to a rickshaw now (laughs). At one point, I admired him because he had experience captaining domestic cricket and the PSL, where he led his team to the finals.”
He further criticized Rizwan’s questionable decision-making suggesting a drastic shift in his approach as a leader.
"His decision-making changed completely. I’m not sure what caused this shift since I haven’t been in the dressing room with him during that period. His choices now seem unusual."
Amir: "Rizwan Had Authority but Failed to Use It"
The former left-arm pacer also dismissed the notion that Rizwan had no control over team selections, arguing that his influence in becoming captain should have been used to shape the squad as well.
"It seemed he would bring about positive changes. However, within a few months, it felt like he had drifted away from the cricketing mindset."
"If Rizwan claims he had no authority over selections, that’s not entirely true. The same influence that helped him become captain could have been used to shape the team, but he didn’t take that step. I don’t understand why." He concluded.
