It was fantastic to see all the hard work paying off in the second part of the season, according to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) assistant coach Adam Griffith, who credited the recent wins to a shift in batting style by the openers.
On Saturday, May 4, at Bengaluru's M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Gujarat Titans (GT) by four wickets in an exciting Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 match.
"The start of the tournament was not that great, especially in the powerplay. That is something we really focused on. Recently we made sure that we really work hard to get better starts for the group. Tonight, it was one of the better ones and it was good to see the hard work come off," Adam Griffith said.
Even though openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis got off to a roaring start, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) managed to avoid a minor panic while they were chasing 148 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In the opening six overs of the match, the duo scored 92 runs between them, which was the best start that Royal Challengers Bangalore has had so far this season. When Faf was dismissed for 64 runs off of just 23 balls, Kohli managed to score 42 runs off of 27 balls in a hurry.
