We made a lot of fumbles today and that cost us: Harmanpreet Kaur after defeat in Women's Asia Cup final
The overall theme of India's performance in the match in Dambulla on Sunday (July 28) was misfields, lost catches, and some subpar bowling. India's fielding has been subpar not only in this match but throughout the competition.

Harmanpreet Kaur acknowledged that India's "lot of fumbles" in the Women's Asia Cup 2024 final did not help their cause.
The overall theme of India's performance in the match in Dambulla on Sunday (July 28) was misfields, lost catches, and some subpar bowling. India's fielding has been subpar not only in this match but throughout the competition.
"We played good cricket throughout the tournament and no doubt, we made a lot of fumbles today and that cost us. It was a decent total, we were looking for breakthroughs in the powerplay but it didn't go according to plan and Sri Lanka batted really well," Harmanpreet said at the post-match presentation.
Only a little over two months remain until the T20 World Cup in Bangladesh, and Harmanpreet feels his team still has a lot of work to do in order to win their first trophy. "We are looking to improve in some areas, we will definitely work hard and remember this day. They have played such good cricket from so much time and they played good cricket throughout this tournament," she added.
In the match, after being asked to bat first, India amassed 165 runs at a cost of six wickets thanks to a 60-run effort from Smriti Mandhana. Then, with eight balls remaining in their innings, Sri Lanka chased down the target.
