India Masters secured a six-wicket victory over West Indies Masters in the final of the International Masters League (IML) T20, held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur. Despite the win the match was marred by a heated exchange between India’s Yuvraj Singh and West Indies’ Tino Best.

The tension occurred after the 13th over of India Masters’ innings where Yuvraj Singh was seen in a verbal exchange with Tino Best. The confrontation escalated after Ambati Rayudu hit a six off the first ball of bowled by Ashley Nurse. Yuvraj then directed some words at Best, who was fielding inside the 30-yard circle, leading to a face-off. Both players went shoulder-to-shoulder before the intervention of West Indies Masters’ captain Brian Lara and the umpires who managed to calm things down.

West Indies Masters won the toss and chose to bat first. Lendl Simmons provided a much-needed contribution with a solid 57 off 41 balls, including five fours and a six. Despite his efforts, West Indies Masters finished with 148/7 in their 20 overs.

In reply, India Masters chased down the 149-run target with ease, thanks to Ambati Rayudu’s stellar performance. Rayudu smashed 74 off 50 balls, hitting nine boundaries and three sixes. India Masters completed the chase with six wickets in hand and 2.5 overs to spare, clinching the inaugural IML T20 title.
