India’s wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant once again showcased his fearless batting approach with a remarkable shot during the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia at Perth. With India reeling at six wickets down and under 150 runs on the board, Pant stunned the crowd and the opposition by playing an audacious sweep-scoop shot off Australia skipper Pat Cummins.
In the 42nd over, Cummins bowled a full-length delivery angled in around off-stump. Pant, known for his improvisational shots, fell to his back knee and executed a sweep-scoop over the fine-leg boundary for a maximum. This incredible shot left the crowd in awe and even impressed former Pakistani great Wasim Akram, who praised the boldness of the shot, considering the match situation.
Pant, almost losing his balance and coming close to the stumps, showcased the same fearless approach he’s known for in T20 cricket. Despite India’s poor batting display, Pant did not hold back from taking on Cummins, delivering the first six of the series in a jaw-dropping fashion.
