Australia's skipper Pat Cummins produced a moment of magic to dismiss Pakistan's Kamran Ghulam with a sharp bouncer during the first ODI between Australia and Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Monday, November 4, 2024. Ghulam, who managed just 5 runs off 6 balls, was caught off guard by a well-directed short ball that resulted in his dismissal.
The crucial moment occurred in the 19th over of Pakistan's innings. On the fifth delivery, Ghulam defended one back to Cummins and mimicked Steve Smith's signature "no-run" shout in a light-hearted exchange that brought smiles to both players. However, Cummins had the last laugh on the very next delivery.
He bowled a blistering bouncer clocked at 142.7 km/h, which flew straight toward Ghulam's head. The batter tried to evade the delivery but mistimed his movement, and the ball clipped his gloves, providing wicketkeeper Josh Inglis with a simple catch.

Ghulam's dismissal left Pakistan in a precarious position at 70/4, with the pressure mounting on the remaining batters to steady the ship against a relentless Australian bowling attack.
Earlier in the match, after winning the toss and opting to bowl, Cummins and his bowlers capitalized on early breakthroughs. Mitchell Starc, in particular, wreaked havoc by dismissing opener Saim Ayub for 1 and Abdullah Shafique for 12, putting Pakistan on the back foot from the outset.
