Wahab Riaz announces retirement from International cricket
Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz announced his retirement from international cricket on Wednesday 16 August. The Pakistani pacer last played international cricket in December 2020.

Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz has officially announced his retirement from international cricket to continue his journey in franchise cricket.
Pakistani fast bowler Wahab Riaz has announced his retirement from international cricket, ending a 15-year career for his country. However, he will continue to play franchise cricket.
“After an incredible journey, I have decided to retire from international cricket. A big thank you to PCB, my family, coaches, mentors, teammates, fans and everyone who has supported me," Pacer, 38, posted on the X platform, formerly known as Twitter.
Wahab Riaz, who played 27 Tests, 91 ODIs and 36 T20Is, picked 237 international wickets. He last played for Pakistan in December 2020. However, the senior pacer only played in the Pakistan Super League in March this year.
“Exciting times are upon us in the world of franchise cricket!” The left arm pacer added.
"I have spoken about my retirement plans for the past two years, that I have set myself the goal of retiring from international cricket in 2023 and I feel more comfortable now than ever having served my country and my national team so well, as I could have," Wahab Riaz said in a statement following his international retirement on Wednesday.
“It was an honor and a privilege to represent Pakistan on the international stage. "I bid farewell to this chapter and I am very excited to embark on a new adventure in franchise cricket, in which I hope to entertain and inspire audiences while taking on some of the finest talent in the world," he added added.
