There was obviously no disrespect meant in that photo: Marsh
Many have criticized that the World Cup has been dishonored by stepping on the trophy. Even Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami is one of those many. Shami feels that the trophy that everyone holds above their heads has been dishonored by putting it under their feet.

"There was obviously no disrespect meant in that photo at all. I haven’t given it too much thought, I haven’t seen a lot on social media even though everyone tells me it’s gone off. There’s nothing in that," Marsh was quoted as saying to SEN.
However, Australia cricketers did not get a chance to celebrate the World Cup victory for a long time. After winning the World Cup, they are now busy with the five-match T20I series against India. Six cricketers from the World Cup winning squad played the final and remained in India. They returned to Australia after playing three matches in the series. Marsh said, “Yeah it was pretty outrageous for the guys that had to stay behind. It’s a fine line because we’ve got to respect the fact we’re playing for Australia, and it’s a series against India which is always really big. But there’s also the human side of it, the boys have just won a World Cup and probably deserve to celebrate for a while and get home to their families.”
