According to MS Dhoni, decisions on his future as a player for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will only be made following the establishment of the regulations governing player retention and the next Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.
"There is a lot of time for it. We have to see what decision they take on player retention etc. Right now, the ball is not in our court. So, once the rules and regulations get formalised, I will take a call, but needs to be in the best interest of the team,” In July, Dhoni, who turned 43, spoke during a gathering in Hyderabad.
On July 31, in Mumbai, the BCCI met with the owners of IPL teams to discuss the regulations surrounding the IPL auction and player retention. Although a final decision has not yet been made public, it is anticipated that information will become evident in the near future.
